I have known Ron Russell (co-owner and a chef at Suncafe) for many years, so it was an absolute honor when he invited Abby (AKA Troll) and I to come dine at the restaurant last night. Ron is one of the kindest, most welcoming hosts I have ever known, and being at Suncafe just feels so warm and inviting.
Atmosphere is incredibly important to me–honestly, if you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll tell you that I don’t go out to eat unless it feels like an experience all around. Suncafe takes this to a whole new level. Obviously pet friendly (hence the Troll photos), it is the perfect place to gather friends or a book a party around the fire pit. It feels like this relaxing, hidden oasis that just so happens to be in the midst of Studio City.
The enchanting decor speaks for itself in the images here, so let’s get to the important part…the immaculate menu. Being someone who struggles with multiple health issues and chronic illness, finding a restaurant I can eat at (and enjoy) often feels like a chore. Clean eating is supposed to be a positive experience, and Suncafe makes healthy, vegan eating effortless, delicious, and decadent. You don’t have to sacrifice taste or elegance when you choose to eat clean. It just feels healthy and inspiring being at Suncafe, both physically and spiritually.
The Blueberry Kale Smoothie: Blueberries, goji berries, kale, apple, pineapple.
Troll had the Richeaume Organic Rosé.
Don’t just take my word for it…stop by! Suncafe offers cooking classes on Saturdays mornings where you can learn to make some of their ridiculously delicious items. Last but not least, follow them on Instagram so you don’t miss anything tasty: @suncafela
