I want you to wake up. //

I want you to wake up. //

That sentence has been stuck in my mind all day. At first I didn’t know why, but it seems to be the driving force behind sharing my art with you on this particular post. I had my second photo shoot with the incredibly lovely Leah Beck this week, and there was just something special about her trust in me, in the process, of capturing her authenticity.

Leah came to our session with the desire to capture some natural, raw, real shots…and it wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t chosen to do one thing…

Wake up.

We all  have to wake up and show up for ourselves. Every. Single. Day. There is something very lucid and thoroughly alive in Leah’s eyes. This is a woman with a gentle yet fierce energy…calm and collected while expectant of miracles.

There was a seamless flow to the photo shoot…somehow effortlessly gliding through 4 different looks in just one hour. The ease was present because Leah was awakened and in tune with herself…every moment and every bit of it. She woke up.

You see, life doesn’t have to be perfect to be true. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. It doesn’t have to be perfect for magic to be captured. It cannot be perfect for it to be authentic. And as I contradict myself here, the authenticity is the true perfection.
