Day 24: I am thankful for adventures.

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”

― Eleanor Roosevelt

The beautiful thing about life is that each day, every 24 hours, we get a brand new opportunity to live, breath, and experience something else. After almost 5 years of living in Los Angeles, like living anywhere, it can sometimes seem that we have seen it all. The good news is, though, that’ll never happen.

Nathan, my wonderful fiance, is my adventure partner who explores life with me and makes each day a journey. Just the other day, we had no plans. Nothing in mind, nothing scheduled. I thought it would be fun to do something different, yet cost effective, so we went to the free California Science Center Museum.

My man is truly something special, because he enjoys learning, exploring, and growing with me. We ran around the museum like children…wide eyed and eager to cease the day.

The adventure day could have stopped there, but it didn’t. Nathan suggested that we wander around downtown (an area we LOVE) while we were already in that neck of the woods. Our day was simple and within our budget, but it was filled with joy, laughter, and new memories.

We ran out of the museum and into the autumn rain…
Wandered around the fashion district (where Nathan got a $5 jacket!)…
Strolled through “The Last Bookstore”, a lovely BIG bookstore and art gallery downtown…
Grabbed hot cocoa and salted caramel baklava from a cute market & coffee shop in the city…
Toured fancy apartment lofts that we can’t afford, just for fun…

As we were getting ready to head home, I even saw beautiful wall art of Audrey Hepburn, which really just put the cherry on top of a perfect day.

Never forget that life is beautiful and that each day is an adventure. Every 24 hours, there is something to explore, something to learn, a reason to smile, and treasures to behold.

  1. The Last Bookstore looks awesome. I’ve never been there and will need to check it out. My husband and I had Los Angeles Adventures this weekend too- Chinatown on Sat and on Sun Beverly Hills and Century City. You will never see it all living in Los Angeles…and that’s what I love about it here!
