Live!

One thing I hear quite often, especially from fellow young women, is how “complicated” things can be.

We talk about how falling in love is messy.
Life is confusing.
Figuring out our plans and our future can be scary.
All of these elements create stress and anxiety. But all the while, we say we are seeking “God’s plan” for our lives. So who complicated things? Us, or God?

We took a simple world and filled it with complication.
Instead of just choosing to love our family, maybe we become prodigals and stray from the arms that hold us.
Instead of allowing friends to help us when we are in need, we are too proud.
Instead of living by faith, we seek financial stability which only leaves us confused, because we can’t serve two gods.
We say we want love, but instead of praying and going for the great guy in front of us, many young women strive for the “spark”…the drama and intrigue that a bad boy has to offer.
Instead of living a fulfilling life of God’s plan for us, filled with a roadmap and fully equipped GPS system (His word), we chase aimlessly after the world.

When I chased the world and what it had to offer, I was left disappointed, afraid, and faithless. I trusted no one. I believed in nothing. I was harsh and cynical.
I feared failure so much that I wouldn’t even try to succeed. Instead of pursuing a fulfilling life of purpose, greatness, zest and flavor, I settled for bland, safe, ordinary formula.

1 Peter 5:7 says:

“Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.”

My eyes teared up reading this beautiful truth. God wants us to enjoy life. He wants us to be carefree. Carefree really doesn’t come easily to me. I have wasted so much time letting the world tell me what “normal” was. I let my soul fill with worry and anxiety.
God doesn’t expect us to have it all figured out. What He does expect is for us to trust Him. When we do, He takes special care of us. He handles the details. He handles the plans. He handles the finances. He’s like the ultimate party planner.

A life with faith in God means a life of fearlessness.

Oscar Wilde quotes:

Live!
Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for new sensations. Be afraid of nothing.”

Normal isn’t working. Worry isn’t fun. And a life of the world’s promises is disappointing.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to live.
